![]() Version 3.1 will be released in the next few days, according to Volo Airsport’s Twitter. In all, Volo Airsport is definitely worth giving a go, with it’s large world and finely-tuned physics, it’s most certainly an enjoyable experience. Customizable gear and modding support ought to be a real replayability boost. Additional ways to fly around sounds pretty good too – hang gliders is something I anticipate being added at some point. Personally, online multiplayer is probably what I’m most looking forward to being able to race down a mountain together, pulling tricks around each other and flying in formation should be an exhilarating experience, especially with large amounts of players. Well, that’s most certainly a lot to look forward to. Customizable Gear Design (Aerodynamics & Looks).Parachutes and other ways to glide and fly.For an extra challenge, fly in first person view.įuture development! What do we have to look forward to with Volo Airsport? The developers, Ramjet Anvil, plan to add in (quoting directly from their website): Flying around in Volo Airsport is relatively easy to pick up but a bit harder to master expect to hit the ground a bit if you’re trying to fly really close to the hills at first. Mastering the wingsuit might take some time but is most definitely worth putting the time into, just for the sheer satisfaction and rush of close-quarters, high-speed flying down a tricky, dangerous route. You might be thinking “Well, that’s not a lot at all!” and that’s fine, but the main amount of gameplay lies in the fact that you can take any route you want down the mountain, giving you a near endless amount of different “tracks”. Naturally, flying as close as you can to the ground is probably the most exciting thing to do, flying along the grooves in the ground and down gaps in the rock. For now, all you can do is take a breath-taking flight down the mountains, taking any route you wish. Currently, there isn’t any goals or objectives of any kind, making it a sandbox of sorts. Well, quite a large amount for the current state of development. Oculus Rift support is also included, great for using with the 1st person view. The game also includes controller support, which I recommended for smoother and more precise flying. All the keys are rebindable as well, something not all AAA games have now for some reason. A general view distance slider would be nice, though considering the size of the map at this time it probably isn’t really needed just yet. Volo Airsport offers a good range of graphical and controls options, including shadow, grass and tree qualities plus view distances for them too. Onwards with the review!įirst, let’s talk about options and controls, since this blog is primarily for PC gaming. Even with this currently limited content, there is much fun to be had here. For the time being, the game only features a single place-holder character but a highly detailed, beautiful world (even running on minimal graphics) and great physics. Volo Airsport, a world of wingsuits, wind, gravity and high-speed adrenaline rushes – currently developed by Ramjet Anvil. Still: coo, isn't that a lovely trailer? And aren't wingsuits awesome? Yes.Disclaimer: Volo Airsport is currently in development, thus what is said here may no longer apply in future Keep that in mind before you consider committing $20/£12.26 towards playing it. For now, for those who take the plunge, plunging and gliding is all you'll be able to do. I’ll be working with Michael Manning to create musical soundscapes for the world, to be tightly coupled to physical space and environmental conditions. Don’t expect narrative content or cutscenes, but more inspired ecology and hints of culture. This means bigger and more detailed terrain, but we’re also applying a thin layer of fiction to help elevate it from the generic islands we started with. The world around you is as important as the flight model, and we’re working on conceptual and technical levels to flesh it out. In his chat with Tim Stone back in May, designer Martijn Zandvliet also suggested grander ambitions for the game's fly-by world: For example, as outlined on the game's Steam Greenlight page, future plans include local and online multiplayer, parachutes, events and challenges, and mod support. I've played it for around fifteen minutes and enjoyed each one of my attempts at wrangling its physics towards thrilling forward movement, and while the above trailer is representative of its current condition, much of what has been discussed is not yet present in the game. Tempted to go flying? Be warned: the game is still slight, containing little more than a single (albeit large) landscape, a single wingsuit, and Oculus Rift support. 1 answer 4 Answers Nearest airport Marostica 3 Answers Hi I plan on going to see il Volo in this piazza next week. ![]() To see this content please enable targeting cookies.
